Love thy neighbour
They say,
"Love thy neighbour,"
Yet preach hate instead.
They say,
"Be yourself,"
But only if yourself
Fits in a box
They understand.
They want
To see you
In a mirror
That reflects
Their world,
But not
Your truth.
How many times
Can you break
And mend
And break again
Before you decide
To live whole?
To the ones
Who choose
To transform,
To align
Their soul
With their skin—
Know this:
You are not
The cracked pieces
They tried to shatter,
But the mosaic
You crafted
From their shards.
You are not
Their whispers
Of sin,
But the symphony
Of self-love
That drowns them out.
Live boldly,
Breathe freely,
Love wholly,
For in your transcendence,
We find
The true meaning
Of human.
And in your courage,
We see
The power
Of being.
